The draw for the semi final of The Fountain Trophies Cup has been made. With both last season's finalists Kintbury Rangers and Wroughton already knocked out, the semi-finals this season will see three reserve/development sides plus one of either Trowbridge Town or Cricklade Town compete for a place in the final. The one outstanding quarter final tie between Trowbridge Town and Cricklade Town is scheduled to be played on Saturday March 21st. The draw for the semi final can be confirmed as follows:
Melksham Town Res v Trowbridge Town or Cricklade Town
Royal W. Bassett Town Dev v Corsham Town Res
Melksham Town Reserves have made the semi final thanks to victories over Malmesbury Victoria Development (8-0) in the first round and an impressive quarter final win over last season's finalist Wroughton (4-2). Of their two potential opponents, Cricklade Town have yet to play in the competition with Marlborough Town having conceded their first round tie, whilst Trowbridge progressed to the quarter final courtesy of a penalty shoot-out win after their first round tie with Stratton Juniors had ended 0-0 after extra-time.
Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development have yet to concede a goal in the cup competition having defeated Ludgershall Sports (5-0) in the first round and then knocked out last season's winners Kintbury Rangers (4-0) in the quarter final. Corsham Town Reserves meanwhile have made it through to the last four with wins over Pewsey Vale (5-0) in the first round and current league leaders Shrewton United (3-1) at the quarter final stage.
This season's cup final is scheduled for Saturday 25th April at Corsham Town FC.
The semi-final matches will be scheduled with the April fixtures which are due to be published shortly.
