History Update News
15th July 2018
 The history section of the Wiltshire Senior League website continues to be built-up.  The latest additions to the website are: 

- AGM officer reports for all seasons from 1991-92 to 2017-18 except for 2003-4 (in total 26 seasons).
- Top scorers for all 4 divisions for Seasons 1991-92, 1992-93, 1993-94, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98, 1999-2000, 2001-02 and 2002-03.
- Write-up on 1982-83 seasonplus results grids for all 4 divisions for that season (although unfortunately Junior Divisions are still incomplete), top scorers in each division and cup final reports for the 4 cups involving league sides;
-  Write-up on 1997-98 season.
- Details of Top Six in EC Mills Sportsmanship Award  for all seasons from 1990-91 onwards;
-  Details of Top 6 in Secretary Award  for all seasons from 1990-91 onwards (except 2002-03);
-  Senior Cup Final reports  for Seasons 2012-13, 2014-15 and 2017-18.
-  Junior Cup Final report  for 2013-14.
-  Intermediate Cup Final report  for 2002-03.
-  Some team photos  of some winning sides over the years.

History Section now includes:
- League tables for all 42 completed seasons (although some further validation mainly of goals scored/conceded still required for a few years).
- AGM reports for 26 seasons.
- Top goal scorer information for 36 of the 42 seasons in the top division and over 75% of all seasons for each of the other divisions.
- Complete results grid for Premier Division for 21 seasons.
- Complete results grids for Junior Divisions for last 10 seasons of their existence (back to 2004-05) plus some earlier years;
- Full details of Wiltshire Senior Cup for 39 of the 42 seasons.
- Full details of League Senior Cup for 24 of the 38 seasons in which cup has been played for.
- Full details of League Junior Cup for 23 out of the 34 seasons in which cup has been played for.

Again the usual request, if anyone is in possession of any results grids or individual team results before 2004-5 please could they get in touch. It would also be great if pictures of winning sides could be posted on the Facebook group so that they can be placed on the website.

- Top scorers for all divisions for Seasons 1986-87, 1987-88, 1990-91 and 2009-10 plus missing divisions to complete Seasons 1981-82 and 1983-84. Now only missing information for 2 seasons (1998-99 and 2003-04).
-   Write-up on 1981-82 and 1983-84 seasons  plus results grids  for all 4 divisions for Season 1981-82;
-   Results grids  for Divisions 1 and 2 for Seasons 1985-86 and 1987-88.
-  Wiltshire Senior Cup results  for the 3 seasons previously not shown (now have all 42 seasons) and also the Cup final match reports for those 3 seasons and Season 2002-03.
-  League Senior Cup  results for  Seasons 1980-81, 1981-82, 1984-85, 1987-88, 1990-91, 1991-92 and 1996-97 (some missing results still across 4 of the years).
-  League Senior and Junior Cup missing results now found for Season 1989-90.
-  Senior Cup Final reports for Seasons 1980-81, 1981-82, 1983-84, 1984-85, 1985-86 and 1998-99.

- Full details of League Senior Cup for 31 of the 38 seasons in which cup has been played for (some missing scores) plus match reports for 23 finals.
- Full details of League Junior Cup for 30 out of the 34 seasons in which cup has been played for (some missing scores) plus match reports for 20 finals.

Again the usual request, if anyone is in possession of any results grids or individual team results before 2004-5 from old programmes they may have please could they get in touch.

It would also be great if pictures of winning sides or other historic pictures could be posted on the Facebook group so that they can be placed on the website (like the one above provided by Les Gill).
History Update News
26 August 2019
Some more history content has been added to the website over the summer months, although less time has been spent in the library than originally intended. The latest additions to the website are:
  • History summary of each of the current clubs in the league added to their directory entry (under the Clubs Section rather than the History Section). The club season summaries now show the Wiltshire Senior Cup and Wiltshire League Senior Cup performance rather than FA Vase and FA Cup as the latter two cups was only relevant to a few sides.
  • Winners of the top two divisions of our Feeder Leagues added to the Feeder League Section (Swindon & District League from 1950’s and Trowbridge & District League from 1897-98).
  • Some details of County representative honours for players playing in the league added to the relevant seasons in the History Section for Seasons 1978-79, 1980-81, 1982-83 and 1983-84.
  • Full results grids for Season 1997-98 now added for Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 to complete all 4 divisions for that season.
  • Details of the League Senior Cup added for Seasons 1983-84, 1997-98, 1999-2000 and 2000-01 (match reports also included for the final in the latter 3 seasons). Three seasons still to trace now with a few missing results here and there.
  • Details of the League Junior Cup added for Seasons 1983-84 and 2000-01 (match reports also included for 2000-01 and 1997-98).
History Section now includes:
  • League tables for all 43 completed seasons (although some further validation mainly of goals scored/conceded still required for a few years).
  • AGM reports for 27 seasons.
  • Top goal scorer information for 41 of the 43 seasons.
  • Complete results grid for Premier Division for 26 seasons.
  • Complete results grids for Junior Divisions for last 10 seasons of their existence (back to 2004-05) plus some earlier years.
  • Full details of Wiltshire Senior Cup for 43 of the 43 seasons (with just a few missing scores in a couple of seasons).
  • Full details of League Senior Cup for 36 of the 39 seasons in which cup has been played for (some missing scores) plus match reports for 27 finals.
  • Full details of League Junior Cup for 32 out of the 34 seasons in which cup has been played for (some missing scores) plus match reports for 22 finals.

History Update News
6 April 2020
 With the premature end to the football season the opportunity has been taken to add some more historical content to the History Section of the league website. The latest additions to the website are:
  • Brief summary of each season expanded for those not previously updated. Those recently updated are Seasons 1980-81, 1984-85 to 1987-88, 1989-90 to 1991-92, 1994-95 to 1996-97 and for the 19 seasons from 1998-99 through to 2016-17. Each of the seasons can be access by either clicking on "History by Season" on the main menu or by Clicking Here.
  • For Season 1997-98 over 30 weeks worth of Vice President Ray Burroughs comprehensive weekly round-ups and results for all four divisions that were included in the various Wiltshire newspapers that supported the league that season. These can be found by either clicking on the link within the 1997-98 Season page or by Clicking Here. This was a very successful season for Corsham Town and also current clubs Melksham Town Reserves and Cricklade Town.
  • Details of the League Junior Cup and Intermediate Cup added for Season 2001-02, together with the Wiltshire Junior Cup final report for Season 2007-08.
Copies of the Cup Final Programmes from the following seasons have been added as PDF's that can be viewed and/or downloaded:
  • Season 1998-99 (Addkey Senior Cup: Cricklade Town v Shrewton United and Fountain Trophies Junior Cup : Box Rovers v Westside United).
  • Season 2012-13 (Corsham Print Senior Cup: Wilts Calne Town v Purton Res and Fountain Trophies Junior Cup: NALGO Wanderers v Wootton Bassett Town Dev)
  • Season 2017-18 (Fountain Trophies Senior Cup: Cricklade Town v Melksham Town Res)
  • Season 2018-19 (Fountain Trophies Senior Cup: Kintbury Rangers v Wroughton)
In addition to the above cup final programmes a selection of example club programmes have been added to the website on the relevant season page. Again the PDF's can be viewed and/or downloaded. The programmes included so far are as follows:

  • Season 1981-82 - Calne Town v Westbury United (Division One). It is noted that current League President Ken Clarke was the referee for this game.
