Two sides from the Under 18 Division were in FA Youth Cup Preliminary Round action this week.

Chippenham Town had a comfortable passage into the First Qualifying Round with a 8-1 home success over Newent Town. It was very much the Dan Warre show as the striker, who is part of the Chippenham Town first team squad this season, hit 7 goals, Luca Robinson with the other Chippenham goal. Highlights of the game can be found on the Chippenham Academy Facebook Page                      www.facebook.com/ChipTownAcademy

Chippenham will now be home to Slimbridge in the First Qualifying Round on Monday 21st September.

The other Under 18 side in action were Shrivenham who were away to Hampshire side Hartley Wintney who play in the Central Division of the Allied Counties Youth Football League. In a tight game it looked like Shrivenham could be heading out of the Cup as they trailed 1-0 with the clock running down but a goal in the final seconds from Taida Tendayi levelled things up at 1-1 and penalties were needed to settle the tie. Shrivenham held their neve to win the penalty shoot-out 4-2 and will now be away to Camberley Town, another side from the Allied Counties Youth League who this time play in the South Division, in the First Qualifying Round. Again, highlights from this game can be seen on Shrivenham’s Facebook Page                   www.facebook.com/shrivenhamfc

Chippenham Town and Shrivenham will be joined by Radstock Town in the First Qualifying Round. Radstock had a bye in the Preliminary Round and will be away to Bridgwater Town in the First Qualifying Round.

There are still four U18 Division sides who have yet to register sufficient players to start the season next week. Please could these clubs get their registrations in as soon as possible. Given the issues with the FA's Whole Game System at the present moment in time this should not be being left to the last moment.
