League suspended
until further notice
The following email was sent to all clubs in the league by the Hon. League Secretary tonight following Management Committee discussions:

"Following the Governments announcement this afternoon regarding the changes in Tiers, we’ve taken the decision to suspend all fixtures forthwith. We will review the situation when the Government / the FA makes another decision, but we don’t expect this to be for a couple of weeks.

According to the latest advice, clubs in Tier 3 are still allowed to play, but we believe that, in the interests of safety and containing any possible spread of the virus, we should pause until advised otherwise.

The latest advice also says that Youth Football, i.e: the U.18’s Floodlight Division, can continue. However, we’ve taken the decision to suspend these as well as the fixtures would involve adults travelling and, as I mentioned above, we should be doing all we can to reduce any possible spread of the virus.

I’ve not yet heard from New College, but as it’s in Tier 4, I’m assuming it will be closed and there will be no fixtures for Veterans in the North Wiltshire Division. I’ve not heard about Green Lane either but again, we feel it’s best to postpone fixtures until advised otherwise.

May I take this opportunity of wishing you all a Happy New Year with the hope that the virus is got under control soon and we can get back to playing football."
