Bradford Town whose win over Corsham Town secured the Mid Wilts Division League title

The final honours across the five divisions of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League were decided this week with the Mid Wiltshire Veterans’ Division champions and runners-up finalised. Getting the teams at the top of the Mid Wiltshire Vets' Division to play each other this season has been like herding cats at times, but the last two games were finally completed this week. A 0-0 draw on Monday night at Green Lane between Bradford Town and Melksham Town left Melksham top of the table but vulnerable to either Bradford Town or Corsham Town overtaking them with a win in the final game of the season between the two sides on Wednesday night.  With all the challenges this season in getting the teams at the top to play each other, as late as Monday night it was unclear whether the game would go ahead with Corsham Town struggling to raise a side.  Thankfully they were able to play the game allowing the title to be decided on the pitch. Two goals from the division’s leading scorer Bradford Town’s Mark Robinson gave Bradford the win which meant they climbed above Melksham Town to win the title for the first time. Robinson ends the season top of the charts on 27 goals in all competitions.

Melksham Town in the end had to settle for runners-up and missed out on the treble having already won both the Wiltshire FA’s County Cup and the League Cup. The defeat on Wednesday meant Corsham just missed out on the medals this season, finishing two points behind Melksham Town. Congratulations to Bradford Town on their title success in what has been a fascinating title race in the Mid Wiltshire Division, wiith final honours not being decided until the final game of the season. Congratulations also to Melksham Town on achieving runners-up to add to their two cup wins, this is the third consecutive season they have finished in the top two in the Mid Wiltshire Veterans’ Division.

The outstanding games in the North Wiltshire Division, where teams were advising they would not be able to fulfill fixtures,  were all decided in the Discipline Committee and the final table now reflects the decisions made.
