With the Under 18 Division set to get underway again at the beginning of April and fixtures scheduled until the end of the season, thoughts are now also turning to next season, Season 2021-22.

Ideally we would like to increase numbers in the U18 category next season to enable us to return to regionalised divisions thus reducing travel distances and costs for all clubs, whilst maintaining a similar number of fixtures for the clubs. The league is open to all clubs with floodlights who reside within the county of Wiltshire or within 20 miles of the Wiltshire County boundary. We are aware that there are a number of clubs with the appropriate facilities in Wiltshire and the surrounding borders who do not currently play in our midweek league and they may wish to consider entering our competition for next season.

Any clubs interested in joining the league should either contact League Secretary Jim Thorn by email, jim.thorn@wiltshireseniorleague.co.uk , for further information or download an application form from our page on FA Full-Time.

Covid-19 has caused two extremely interrupted seasons for the U18’s and disrupted the preparation of these players for adult football. At the request some of our existing U18 clubs, we are considering also running an U20’s Division next season in addition to the U18 Division. This would give the current players, who will be too old for the U.18’s next season, another season or two to develop before going into senior / men’s football and hopefully reduce the numbers that may drop out of football. Our existing U18 clubs have been asked for their thoughts on this matter and again, any clubs with the appropriate facilities in Wiltshire and the surrounding borders who would be interested in a midweek U20 league should contact League Secretary Jim Thorn by email, jim.thorn@wiltshireseniorleague.co.uk .
