AFC Aldermaston’s home games in the Under 18 Division are being staged on a Monday night and their first home game of the season this week saw New College as the first visitors to the Aldermaston Recreational Society. It was to be a winning start for Aldermaston on their own patch, as goals from Finnley Dove, Dan Sandes, Oliver Brashaw and Oliver Pryce secured a 4-1 win over their visitors from Swindon, Enoch Kuffour with the New College goal. The win saw Aldermaston gain top spot in the table ahead of the other fixtures in the Division which were all played on Thursday night.

The three games on Thursday night saw all the away sides travel back home with the points following a win on the road. Devizes Town’s youngsters good start to the season continued at Calne, goals from Jack Smith and leading scorer Caleb Hollow giving the visitors a 2-1 half time lead at Bremhill View, Charlie Morgan with the Calne goal. Calne got back on level terms early in the second half through Tom Powell, but Charlie Swan restored Devizes lead before Hollow and Smith both bagged their second goals of the night to round-off another good night’s work for Devizes with a 5-2 away win. The win saw Devizes move level at the top with Aldermaston and the two were also joined by Royal Wootton Bassett Town on six points.

Previous meetings between Radstock Town and Royal Wootton Bassett Town had been close affairs with the two meetings last season both ending all square. Both sides went into their game on Thursday night having won their opening league fixtures, but it is Royal Wootton Bassett Town who retained that 100% winning record with an impressive 3-0 result on their opponent’s ground. Goals from Jowan Partridge, Kevin Prouse and Alex Stephenson did the damage for the visitors who joined AFC Aldermaston and Devizes Town on six points.

The final game on Thursday night was at Pewsey Recreation Ground where Melksham Town were the visitors. Whilst Melksham had won the last five meetings between the two sides, their last two visits to Pewsey had been decided by a single goal. It was a different story this time round though with three first half goals putting Melksham in command. They added one more after the break to run out 4-0 winners on the night, the Melksham goals coming from Archie Haggerty with his second of the season, Cameron Pearce, Kegan Smart and an own goal.
