Whilst there were only two games this week in the Under 18 Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League all of the top three sides were in action.
It was top versus joint second at Devizes Town where Melksham Town were the visitors to Nursteed Road. Melksham arrived on the back of a three-game unbeaten run, but they were no match on the night for an in-form Devizes side. Danny Bowyer set Devizes on the way with his third of the season and Arlo Stone extended their lead to make it 2-0 before the break. There was no let up in the second half by the league leaders, Tyler Moore made it 3-0 before Jack Smith added two further goals, as he moved onto seven for the season, the second of his two goals coming from the penalty spot. Devizes have now won all four of their league games to date.
Hot on Devizes heels are Royal Wootton Bassett Town who remain unbeaten after a comfortable 4-0 home win over New College Swindon. It was very much Kevin Prouse’s night as the striker hit a hat-trick with Kieran Legg adding a fourth. Prouse's first arrived in just the fifth minute of the game as he finished off a decisive counterattack with a precise finish into the bottom left corner. Midway through the half he swept home after a lovely move down the right-hand side before adding his third from the penalty spot. Kieran Legg completed the scoring late in the second half, stealing possession off a New College defender before coolly slotting into the net. Royal Wootton Bassett Town remain two points behind Devizes with both teams having played four games and are now three points ahead of third placed Melksham Town.
