Pewsey Vale have today issued a club statement regarding the situation involving their Senior sides. The statement confirms that the club have withdrawn from the Sydenham's Wessex League with immediate effect in order to protect their Senior League status and the future of the club.
The club have struggled this season to deal with the impact of the enforced lateral move of their team by the FA National Leagues Committee in the summer from the Uhlsport Hellenic League to the Sydenham's Wessex League, a decision that they had unsuccessfully appealed at the time.
Going forward the club is to continue with a single Senior adult team in the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior Premier League, as Pewsey Vale F.C and with their team in our Under 18’s Floodlight Division with the view to rebuild in the future and regain the Step 6 status they had orginally achieved by winning the Wiltshire County League (as the league was then known) back in Season 1992-93 and then regained at the end of Season 2009-10 after dropping back down for just one season.
