Mid Wiltshire Division
The title race in the Mid Wiltshire Division will now go down to Melksham Town, and possibly Bradford Town’s, final games of the season after Bradford Town secured a 5-0 away win at Devizes Town on Monday night. The win saw them move to within a point of leaders Melksham Town. Once again it was leading scorer Rhys Schell who did the damage, scoring four times for the second week running to take his total for the season to 32, Nick Ross with the other Bradford Town goal. Melksham Town play their final game on Monday at Corsham Town knowing that a victory will see them crowned champions but if last season’s champions can either draw or defeat Melksham it opens the door for Bradford Town to take the title in their final game against Chippenham Town Yard Dogs the following week.

The scheduled final game opponents for the top two, Chippenham Town Yard Dogs and Corsham Town, were in action against each other on Tuesday night and the two sides shared six goals and the points. Corsham Town led 3-1 at the break thanks to goals from Jonathan Scott, Simon Gray and Ibrahim Bigger but the Yard Dogs came back in the second half scoring two unanswered goals to force a sharing of the points as it finished 3-3. On target for Yard Dogs were Nicholas Still with his eighth of the season, Gino De Antonis and a first of the season from Rob Pocock.
The other game on Tuesday night saw Amesbury Junior play the first of two back-to-back games against Trowbridge Tigers. Two goals from leading scorer Craig Watters, who moved onto 14 for the season, plus further goals from John Cowell and Samuel Craig gave Amesbury Junior a comfortable 4-0 win over the Tigers and saw them close the gap to FC Calne in fifth spot to four points. Amesbury have three games left to try and bridge the gap starting with that return fixture with Trowbridge Tigers next Monday.

With Covid concerns in the Redhouse camp, the potential league decider against Priory Vale was postponed this week and will be rearranged for a later date.
The one game that did go ahead in the North Wiltshire Division saw Swindon Rovers secure a 3-1 win over bottom of the table AFC Swindon in what was Rovers penultimate game of the season. On target for Rovers were Andy Mark with his ninth of the season, Mark opening the scoring on the night, with further goals from Andy Hayward and Christian Northway, both scoring their first of the campaign. Vivian Zinyemba replied for AFC Swindon also with his first of the season. Swindon Rovers complete their fixtures next week when they play Cricklade Town. For AFC Swindon that was their final game of the season and whilst they again finished at the bottom of the table it has been a much better season, picking up their first win since joining the league and being competitive in most games, particularly towards the end of the season which bodes well for Season 2022-23.
The draw for the First Round of the Veterans' League Cup is scheduled to take place tomorrow, 31st March 2022.
