In the end just one of the two Veterans’ League Cup Second Round games was played this week with Corsham Town being unable to field a side for their game against Swindon Rovers at New College which meant Rovers were awarded the tie and will now meet FC Calne in the semi-final next week.
The one game that did go ahead was at Stanley Park where
Chippenham Town Yard Dogs entertained
Swindon Old Boys in an inter-divisional clash. Goals from Martin Riddell and Rob Pocock for Chippenham Town Yard Dogs meant it was the team from the Mid Wiltshire Division who progressed to final four courtesy of a 2-1 win, James Roberts with the Swindon Old Boys goal. The win for Yard Dogs mean both divisions’ will have two representatives in the semi-final, with Yard Dogs now set to meet Cricklade Town in the other semi final next week.
