Just one of the three scheduled games in the Under 18 Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League survived the wet weather this week and so it is congratulations to the ground staff at Radstock Town for their efforts in enabling the game between Radstock and Kingsdown Lions to take place. The Radstock club were rewarded for their efforts with a big 9-1 win in the first ever meeting with Kingsdown Lions. Bartek Grzywa led the way firing in a hat-trick, captain Lewis Wheeler and Tom Hobbs both bagged a brace and there were further goals from Theo King and Jay Purnell. Nicholas Wilkes with a second half consolation goal for the Lions taking his total for the season to six. The win for Radstock saw them go fourth in the table with games in hand over all the three teams above them they are still set to have a big say in the race for honours this season. They are back in action on Monday when they travel to AFC Aldermaston in the Quarter Final of the League Cup before meeting Bishops Cannings on Friday in a league fixture as they play one of those games in hand.
The games at Calne Town and Melksham Town were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
Next week’s fixtures are set to be dominated by cup fixtures with the twice postponed tie between Warminster Town and Royal Wootton Bassett Town scheduled for Thursday with that Quarter Final game at AFC Aldermaston on Monday followed by another Quarter Final tie on Tuesday on the 3G at Kingsdown School where Kingsdown Lions entertain Calne Town.
