U18 Floodlight Division
Results & Fixtures

The wet weather returned to put paid to two of the scheduled games in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League. Monday night’s scheduled encounter between Kintbury Rangers and Radstock Town and Thursday night’s game between Calne Town and FC Chippenham being the two games lost.

This meant just two league games were played in the division, both games being on 3G pitches on Monday night. At Moredon there was a local derby game between Wims 11 and Swindon Supermarine. When the two sides had met at Swindon Supermarine’s ground last month, Supermarine had run out comfortable 5-1 winners but on Monday night Wims were to avenge that earlier defeat with a narrow 2-1 win, inflicting the first defeat of the season on Supermarine. Despite the defeat Swindon Supermarine remain top of the table, two points clear of Calne Town with both sides having played six games. Wims meanwhile sit in joint third spot, six points behind the leaders but with a game in hand.

The other league game played was at Green Lane, Devizes where Bishops Cannings entertained Melksham Town with another close encounter that saw the two teams share five goals. In the end Bishops Cannings edged it by the odd goal to record their third win in six games to move joint third in the table.

There was one more game played in the week involving teams from the division with Radstock Town exiting their County Cup, losing 3-0 at home to a strong Bath Arsenal side.

Due to half term starting in Wiltshire next Wednesday there is a limited fixture schedule next week with just two games scheduled to take place.

Please note that there will no longer be the usual roundups of games, pictures nor list of leading goal scorers in the Under 18 Division this coming season by order of the FA. If this is causing disappointment with your players, who we know like to see their goal scoring exploits publicised, please take the matter up with the Wilts FA as we are just doing as we have been told. We have given them are strong views on the matter.
