It was a disappointing week in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with just the one game being played to completion this week. The wet weather during the week saw all three games set to be played on grass on Thursday night postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
Two games were started on 3G on Monday night but only one would go the full duration. That game was at Green Lane where Devizes Town became the fourth side in the division to reach the halfway stage with their league fixtures with a 3-1 win over last season's champions Kintbury Rangers. The win for Devizes saw them complete a league double over Kintbury and move up to joint second place in the table, level on points with FC Chippenham, but Devizes have played four more games.
The other game on Monday night between Wims 11 and Westbury United was unfortunately abandoned by the referee due to misconduct and the League now await the disciplinary verdict from the Wiltshire FA regarding the matter before any decision can be taken regarding what happens with the game.
Please note that there will no longer be the usual roundups of games, pictures nor list of leading goal scorers in the Under 18 Division this coming season by order of the FA. If this is causing disappointment with your players, who we know like to see their goal scoring exploits publicised, please take the matter up with the Wilts FA as we are just doing as we have been told.
