Last week’s results in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League saw FC Chippenham close the gap at the top of the table to five points following a 0-0 draw against Calne Town on what proved to be a good night for the two side’s respective defences. Whilst FC Chippenham would have obviously been looking for the three points, Calne Town are a good side and will have a big say in the title race this season with Radstock Town still to play twice. Looking at the final run in for the top two, whilst Radstock have that five point lead, FC Chippenham look to have the easier run in so there is plenty still to play for in the title race.
Radstock Town’s game against Swindon Supermarine was postponed due to a pitch that was both waterlogged and frozen in different parts of the ground.
Devizes Town maintained their push for honours with a 5-3 win against near neighbours Bishops Cannings, avenging the 2-1 defeat they suffered at the hands of their local rivals back in October. The win for Devizes saw them move level on points with third placed Swindon Supermarine and a point behind FC Chippenham.
The other two games played in the division also saw the winning sides score five times in securing the three points. At Moredon on Monday night Wims 11 picked up their fifth win of the season with a 5-3 success against Kintbury Rangers in the first meeting of the two sides this season.
On Thursday night, the only game to be played on grass this week in the division saw Amesbury Town pick up their third league win of the season, defeating Melksham Town 5-1 to complete a league double having also won at Melksham at the end of October. The win for Amesbury saw them move three points clear of their beaten opponents.
