The wet weather took its toll on this week’s fixtures in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with three of the four games set to be played on grass pitches being postponed due to waterlogged pitches. This left just two games, one on grass at Radstock Town and one played on a 3G pitch.
On Monday night on the 3G pitch at Green Lane, Devizes, Westbury United picked up their second point of the season with a 1-1 draw against Wims 11. The young Westbury side, many of whom will be available again next season, have improved as the season has progressed which certainly bodes well for next season.
The only other game played in the division was on Thursday night and it saw Radstock Town catch up with nearest title challengers FC Chippenham in terms of fixtures played with a 12th straight win, their latest victory in that perfect dozen coming against Bishops Cannings. Three unanswered goals did the damage for Radstock who are set to be in action again this coming week when they take on Devizes Town at Green Lane in a truncated fixture schedule due to Half Term. Radstock are now eight points clear at the top of the table and another win on Monday would increase that lead to eleven points, but Devizes are also in good form with three wins in their last four games so could well provide a stern test to Radstock’s perfect league record. The only other game this coming week sees Amesbury Town entertain Westbury United.
