Due to it being half term week last week there were just two scheduled fixtures in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League and with the pitch at Amesbury Town waterlogged, Thursday’s scheduled game against Westbury United ended up being postponed.
This just left Monday night’s fixture on the 3G at Green Lane, Devizes, with a big game at the top end of the table involving Devizes Town and league leaders Radstock Town. Devizes had been on a good run of late with three wins in their previous four games ahead of Monday night’s encounter, whilst Radstock had won all 12 of their opening league fixtures. Devizes were expected to severely test Radstock’s perfect record, and the anticipated close encounter did materialise with Devizes pushing the leaders all the way. However, in the end, a solitary goal for Radstock Town was enough to make it 13 wins in 13 games for the league leaders as they opened up an 11 point lead at the top of the table.
