Corsham Print
Wiltshire Senior League
U18 Floodlight Division
Roundup w/c 17/03/25

It was another good week in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League as all five games were played in the Division.

League leaders Radstock Town moved a step closer to the league title with win number 15 of the season, a 2-0 home success over Swindon Supermarine in what was the first meeting of the season between the two sides. The win for Radstock means that only FC Chippenham can now catch them and Radstock are guaranteed honours but will be looking to maintain their perfect record until the end of the season and lift the title in style.

FC Chippenham maintained their interest in the title race with a 3-0 away win at Moredon in Swindon against Wims II that leaves them eleven points behind Radstock with a game in hand and a trip to Radstock still to come which provides an opportunity to erode the gap although Radstock now look clear favourites for the title.

There was something of a surprise result at Nursteed Road where Devizes Town were home to Melksham Town in what was Devizes’ final home game of the season, the game having been moved from Green Lane to give the side their final game on home turf. However, the switch to 3G did not suite Devizes as they fell to a 4-0 defeat as Melksham avenged the defeat they suffered in the opening week of the season at the Oakfield Stadium.

There was also a 4-0 away win at Amesbury Town where Bishops Cannings returned to winning ways after going five games without a victory, there last win also being against Amesbury as Bishops Cannings completed a league double over their beaten opponents.

It was a similar story at Bremhill View where Calne Town were 5-1 winners against Westbury United, their last league win having also been against the same opponents at the end of January. The win for Calne saw them move to within three points of both third placed Swindon Supermarine and Devizes Town, with four games in hand over Devizes and one in hand over Swindon Supermarine.

Next week sees a mix of league and cup fixtures with the two outstanding League Cup quarter final ties set to take place.
