It was another good week in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League as all five scheduled games were played with a couple of teams once again playing two games in the week to play catch-up with the fixtures postponed during the awful wet months at the start of the calendar year.
It was to prove to be a good week for Melksham Town who picked up a maximum six points from their two games. On Monday night they were involved in high scoring encounter away at Westbury United, Melksham eventually edging it by the odd goal in nine to claim the three points. Kieran Higdon led the way scoring twice with the other Melksham goals coming through Callum Kirkman, Oliver Montgomery and Reuben Church. The four Westbury goals were scored by Harry Matthews with two, Izacc Pritchard-Hanna and William Bendall.
Melksham Town followed that victory with another on Thursday night against Devizes Town. Whilst it was another close affair on this occasion there were a lot less goals, with Melksham just grabbing the one through Oscar Hall to record their second win of the week. The two wins for Melksham saw them move above Wims 11 in the table into fourth spot.
Westbury United also played a second game in the week with another home game on Thursday night where a penalty from Edison Poole gave them a share of the points with a 1-1 draw against Radstock Town, Ashley Thomas with the Radstock goal.
The same night there was a high scoring game at Gillingham Town where Amesbury Town were the visitors. With Amesbury leading 3-2 as the game moved into its final moments thanks to goals from Ousman Camara, Marvin Acheampong and Alfie Pawlak-Walsh, Gillingham Town grabbed a last gasp equaliser from James Barcay with his second of the game to share the points. The other Gillingham goal was scored by Jack Hinchliffe.
Trowbridge Town recorded their second victory of the season on Wednesday night with a 3-0 home success over Kintbury Rangers thanks to goals from Jedial Nyikadzino, Kieran Harris-Southey and Joseph Withey. Unfortunately due to postponements earlier in the season when they were unable to raise a side any points gained have been removed by the Discipline Committee.
