Club History
Kintbury Rangers were formed in 1890 and had a very successful team between the two World Wars, winning Division One of the Newbury & District League on four occasions in the early 1930’s. During the time of the Second World War the village team continued to play friendly matches against local army and RAF camps and the prisoner of war camp on the outskirts of the village. As the war progressed the American Forces took over the use of the ground for baseball matches.

The club reformed in 1943 and after the Second World War re-joined the Newbury & District League and quickly became one of the leading clubs in West Berkshire, going on to win the Premier Division of the league in the 1958–59 campaign. The club joined the North Berks Football League Premier Division in the 1967–68 season, staying in the Premier Division for three seasons before suffering relegation at the end of the 1969–70 season, and a subsequent relegation the following season to Division Two.

Kintbury won the North Berks League Cup in 1972-73 but it took them five seasons to get back to the top division of the league, doing so by winning Division Two title in the 1975–76 season. Over the next seven seasons the club won Division One of the North Berks League twice, in the 1977–78 season and the 1981–82 season. In Season 1982-83, their last season in the North Berks League, the club almost won the title again after finishing level on points with Berinsfield, though they lost out after a 5–4 defeat in a play-off for the title.

In 1983–84, Kintbury joined the Hellenic Football League Division One, gaining promotion to the Premier Division in the 1987–88 season when they finished third behind Cheltenham Town Reserves and Wantage Town. In Season 1996-97 they made the Premier Division Cup Final, losing narrowly 1-0 to Swindon Supermarine.  They remained in the Hellenic League until 1999 when, after a couple of seasons which had seen them in the bottom two, they left to re-join the North Berks Football League. During this stint in the North Berks League, the club lifted the league title three times in a row from the 2001–02 season and achieved the treble of the league, North Berks Cup & North Berks Charity Shield in the 2001–02 and 2002–03 seasons.

On the back of this success they then re-joined the Hellenic Football League in the 2004–05 season, finishing runners-up in Division One East in their first season back. They stayed in the Hellenic until the end of the 2009-10 Season, unable to match that second-place finish in the first season, the highest they achieved being when their potent strike force of Charlie Austin and Shaun Thorp fired them into fourth place in Season 2006-07.

Season 2010-11 saw them back in the North Berks League where they initially struggled. However, Season 2013-14 was the start of period which has seen six years of great success. Kintbury claimed the first silverware since their return to the North Berks Football League in April 2014, defeating Ardington & Lockinge 5-3 in extra-time to lift the North Berks Charity Shield for the third time. The season was rounded off when they defeated Saxton Rovers 3-1 in the final game of the season at the Recreation Ground to once again secure the North Berks Football League Division One title, losing just once throughout the whole campaign. They just failed to defend their title the following season when they finished runners-up to Berinsfield but made no mistake the following season when they pipped local rivals Lambourn Sports to the title. The following season they dropped to fourth place before looking for new challenges in the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League where they have had nothing but success.

Their first season in the Wiltshire Senior League saw them take the title in impressive style finishing five points clear of second placed Melksham Town Reserves. Season 2018-19 saw them in a tight race for the league title with rivals Wroughton, with the same two sides also meeting in the Fountain Trophies Cup Final. A 3-2 win for Kintbury at Corsham Town in a superb cup final saw Kintbury pick up their second trophy in their short time in the league. In the end they were just pipped for the title for a second successive season by a very good Wroughton side.

Season 2019-20 once again saw Kintbury Rangers going well at the time the season was brought to a premature end by Covid. They sat third in the table, three points behind the leaders Corsham Town Reserves but with two games in hand, having lost just three of their opening 20 league games. Their big rivals Wroughton were also just two points behind them in the table, unbeaten and with five games in hand so it was all still to play for when Covid struck, and we will never know if more honours would have been secured.  However, at the end of the season, with several their players following their former manager to Hungerford Town Swifts, Kintbury made the decision to drop down to Hellenic League Division 2 level. They won their first three league games which turned out to be their only league games that season as Covid once again brought the season to an early end.

They carried that good form into Season 2021-22 and secured a runners-up finish in Hellenic League Division Two South, just two points behind champions Highworth Town Reserves. After that successful season they elected to make the move back up to National League System Feeder level, and a return to the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League for Season 2022-23.

Kintbury had another good season on their return to the Wiltshire Senior League securing a fifth place finish and with ambitions to return to Step 6 of the National League System were amongst the favourites for the league title in Season 2023-24 under new manager Danny Langford. Kintbury started the season well and an early win over Amesbury Town saw them the early pace setters. Them and Amesbury were to battle it out all season for the league title, both sides winning their respective home games against each other. However, two defeats at the hands of Kingsdown and draws against Royal Wootton Bassett Town Dev, Malmesbury Vics Dev and a controversial one away at Wroughton would prove costly in the end as Amesbury finished seven points clear at the top and Kintbury had to settle for runners-up spot.

As well as the aforementioned Charlie Austin, other notable professional player alumni of the club includes Brett Angell.
