The draw for the Second Round of the prestigious Wiltshire Senior Cup has been made this week with eight sides from the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League involved in the draw. Seven are already safely through to the round of sixteen teams and Purton will hope to join them when they take on Toolstation Western League side Devizes Town next Tuesday, in a fixture that has twice fallen victim to the weather.
Shrewton United's reward for knocking out Sydenhams Wesex League side Pewsey Vale in the last round is a tough looking home tie against Toolstation Western League side Corsham Town. Holt who knocked out Marlborough Town in the week will once again be at home in the Second Round with Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One West side Malmesbury Victoria the visitors to the Westbury Engineering Stadium.
Ludgershall Sports are another side with a tough looking draw against higher league opposition, with an away trip to Sydenhams Wessex League side Bemerton Heath Harlequins. Cricklade Town will be another side hoping to cause an upset when they entertain Toolstation Western League Division One leaders Calne Town, as manager Craig Kent takes on one of his former clubs.
Current league leaders Wroughton will travel across town to play fellow Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League side Stratton Juniors in the only confirmed all Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League tie. There could be a second all Wiltshire Senior League tie if Purton do cause another upset and knock out Western League side Devizes Town in that outstanding First Round match, with the winners of that First Round tie away to Trowbridge Town.
The full Second Round draw is as follows:
Laverstock & Ford v New College Swindon Shrewton United v Corsham Town Holt v Malmesbury Victoria Bemerton Heath H v Ludgershall Sports Downton v Warminster Town Stratton Juniors v Wroughton Cricklade Town v Calne Town Trowbridge Town v Devizes Town or Purton
