Wiltshire Senior Cup
Season 2019-20
The re-introduction by the Wiltshire FA of the Wiltshire Premier Shield next season, and the inclusion of sides playing at Step 5 and higher in the National League System in that competition, means the Wiltshire Senior Cup should be even more interesting this coming season for our clubs. Season 2019-20 could actually see a side from the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League make the final for the first time since Season 2003-4 when Trowbridge Town from the league defeated Corsham Town in the final on penalties to lift the prestigious Senior Cup trophy.

For Season 2019-20, the leading nine clubs in the county who played in the 2018-19 Wiltshire Senior Cup, including the big three of Chippenham Town, Salisbury and Swindon Supermarine, will be joined by Swindon Town in now competing for the Wiltshire Premier Shield.

This leaves the Wiltshire based clubs in our league to battle it out for the Wiltshire Senior Cup with the Step 6 sides, namely Bemerton Heath Harlequins, Calne Town, Corsham Town, Devizes Town, Downton, Laverstock & Ford, Malmesbury Victoria, New College Swindon, Pewsey Vale and Warminster Town. As both Purton and Shrewton showed last season with their victories over Bemerton Heath Harlequins and Warminster Town respectively, and also Cricklade Town by pushing Laverstock & Ford all the way in their quarter final tie, there is every chance that sides from our league could go a long way in next season’s competition. Whilst the chance to play against the big non-league clubs in the county is removed, the loss of such fixtures is more than compensated with the real possibility of an extended run in this prestigious competition for our sides.
